Kaspersky is scaling up in India, tripling staff and boosting cyber defenses amid rising threats. It collaborates with regulators and businesses, leveraging AI to build resilience in IT/OT systems.

As reported by Economic Times, recognizing India’s booming digital economy and rising cyber risks, Kaspersky is making strategic investments to establish the country as a critical market. Over the last two years, the cybersecurity leader has tripled its Indian workforce, adding talent in sales, research, and threat analysis.

Jaydeep Singh, Kaspersky’s India GM, revealed that the company’s local research teams monitor 900+ APT groups daily, supported by AI-driven threat detection systems that identify nearly half a million malware samples each day. The firm is also scaling its digital footprint intelligence (DFI) capabilities to combat brand impersonation and cyberattacks.

Singh praised India’s evolving regulatory landscape, including the DPDP Act and financial sector guidelines, while expressing readiness to contribute to future AI governance frameworks. As cyber threats intensify—particularly against IT and OT systems—Kaspersky is advocating for a “cyber immune” approach to safeguard critical infrastructure.

The company is deepening partnerships with Indian government bodies, CERT-In, and enterprises to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and defenses. “India is not just a market but an innovation hub for us,” Singh noted, underscoring Kaspersky’s long-term commitment amid double-digit growth in 2024.
